The 2010 China International Gallery Exposition closed this afternoon. Although the critics were not impressed, I’ve shared a few personal highlights shared below, my interpretation of “fear” being loose. ulifearulifear2

Zhang Ding’s commentary on the floating migrant population is as tactile as it is thought provoking.

Zhou Tiehai’s airbrushed portrait of you know who. The fear this painting inspires is on par with that conjured up by an enormous portrait I once saw of Bono at a Milan art fair. A more immediate fear would be to wonder, what is she going to do with that spoon..?

Flipping through the CIGE catalog, media folk should take note: “Asian artistic scenes are very livery.” So livery, in fact, there is never enough time to proofread your magazine’s advertisement. But perhaps voicing the desires of art media across Asia, they plead, “Please send as much data as possible!” Content production is a bitch. Find the address for inquiry above.
