Landscape Series #1

Artist Lu Hao and curator Zhao Li were announced earlier this month as the curator of the China Pavillion at the 53rd Venice Biennale. The 40 yr old artist has participated before in the Venezia Biennale as artist, as well as the San Paolo and Busan Biennale.  Lu Hao told reporters in while in France that he wanted to confront Italians with more challenging problems, and discussed mirroring the walls and projecting images from various corners of the pavilion, to create a “gaudy and grotesque site”.

Another hope was to build another independent space outside, also covered in mirrors that would project to the outside of the space. Lu Hao, who’s photorealist landscapes (pictured here) have captured my heart, is sure of one Sichuan painter’s participation: He Jinwei. The artist has completed a series of oil paintings on the Sichuan earthquake, a group of almost 200 small canvases documenting the event.

While the project is not yet confirmed by the media, the official proposal has made its way to my desktop for English translation–perhaps an exclusive to follow?

This is Mark Busacca, founder and inventor of Busacca Gallery in San Francisco. I am looking for your endorsement. We have the first completely free and hand picked art consignment opportunity website tool system that is relentlessly simple and without a doubt the cleanest and easiest to use selling marketing platform. Many people believe that creating a Website of their work is a panacea. Nothing could be further from the truth. Without a means to bring people to your site, and bring them back again and again, a Website is nothing more than a bunch of 1s and 0s. Web marketing is just as important as any other form of marketing and marketing is key to bringing people to your Website. Who do you want to visit your site? Why should they bother? What do you want them to do (specifically) when they get there? What’s in it for them? Thinking “what does my audience want” will get you further than thinking “what do I want.” This is an alien concept to many artists, and people who have art objects for sale. The biggest sellers are the best marketers… In fact we all know many whose selling ability and “marketing” is far better than their “art.” What makes us unique is a paid by performance program. We get paid only if we perform! We give it away for free, because we know we can perform better as a targeted high end hand picked art team group consortium. Consignment works, because it’s been around for thousands of years. Intrigued? Email or call me and I will send you some more info.
